Position Description

The Department of Psychology at The University of Toledo seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in clinical psychology that includes the role of psychology clinic director.

The primary service responsibility for this position includes serving as Director of a currently operational psychology clinic housed within the Department of Psychology. This clinic serves as the primary training clinic for clinical psychology doctoral students. Other responsibilities include mentoring and supervision of clinical psychology doctoral students, teaching a reduced load of primarily graduate courses, serving as a core member of the clinical psychology doctoral program, developing an independent program of research, collaborating with faculty within and outside the department on research, and serving the department, college, and university through various activities and roles. Competitive applicants will have a vision for further developing the clinic by increasing its visibility within the institution and local community, expanding clinical services, and incorporating innovations that further the mission of the clinic and the clinical psychology doctoral program.

The specific area of specialization is open, although candidates with a background in intervention science and/or treatment process-oriented research are preferred. Previous experience managing a clinic is preferred but not required. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates whose clinical work or research focuses on underrepresented populations and/or who have experience supervising or mentoring underrepresented minority students.

For information about the department, clinical psychology doctoral program, and psychology clinic, please visit our website at http://www.utoledo.edu/al/psychology.

Review of applications will occur as applications are received and will continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is January 2022, although later dates can be negotiated.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and be license eligible in Ohio.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research and teaching interests, vision statement for the clinic, and representative publications.

Please also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to Dr. Matthew Tull (matthew.tull@utoledo.edu) and Dr. Sarah Francis (sarah.francis@utoledo.edu), Co-Chairs of the Search Committee.

It is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of duties performed by the people so classified, nor is it intended to limit or modify the right of any supervisor to assign, direct and control the work of employees under his/her supervision.
